Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Full Movie Summary:
In Kweilin, China, 1932, Newt Scamander helps a Qilin — a magical creature that can see into one's soul as well as the future — give birth. Gellert Grindelwald's acolytes, led by Credence Barebone, attack and kill the mother and kidnap the newborn. Grindelwald subsequently kills the creature intending to harness its ability of precognition. However, unbeknownst to them, the Qilin had twins, the younger of which Newt saves.
Unable to battle Grindelwald due to their blood pact, Albus Dumbledore recruits Newt, his brother Theseus, Ilvermorny Charms teacher Lally Hicks, Senegalese-French wizard Yusuf Kama, American No-Maj Jacob Kowalski and Newt's assistant Bunty Broadacre to thwart Grindelwald's plan for world domination. They travel to Berlin, Germany where Yusuf Kama is planted as a spy in Grindelwald's inner circle. The International Confederation of Wizards (ICW) acquits Grindelwald of all charges. He subsequently runs to be the Supreme Mugwump. Newt had passed Albus' message to current Supreme Mugwump Anton Vogel to do the right thing, not the easy thing. Anton Vogel tells the ICW council that arresting Grindelwald could gain him more support, but his being defeated in a legitimate election will erode his strength. Albus later remarks to Newt that Vogel chose the easy thing.
Grindelwald's acolytes have undermined the German Ministry of Magic. They arrest Theseus and plot to assassinate the Brazilian Supreme Mugwump candidate, Vicência Santos. Under Dumbledore's direction, Newt finds Theseus in the secret German wizarding prison, while Lally and Jacob thwart the assassination attempt, though Jacob is subsequently framed for attempting to murder Grindelwald. He and Lally barely escape, giving Grindelwald justification to turn the Wizarding world against all Muggles. Meanwhile, Grindelwald sends Credence to assassinate Dumbledore. Dumbledore quickly defeats Credence, who is revealed to be the illegitimate son of Dumbledore's younger brother, Aberforth Dumbledore. Learning his true parentage and being spared by Albus, Credence questions his loyalty to Grindelwald. Meanwhile, Newt rescues Theseus from Erkstang Prison. After meeting with a giant manticore, they are transported to Hogwarts.
Wizarding world leaders gather in Bhutan to elect the new Supreme Mugwump by the ancient ritual of being found worthy by a Qilin. Grindelwald foresees that Albus and Newt will bring the twin Qilin to the ceremony. His followers are stationed throughout the village to intercept Albus' team. Knowing this, Albus has each member carry an identical suitcase.
Using necromancy, Grindelwald reanimates the dead Qilin. During the Walk of the Qilin ceremony, he manipulates the corpse to choose him. Grindelwald immediately declares war on all Muggles and tortures Jacob; however, Credence, Newt and Bunty expose him. Bunty produces the surviving Qilin which bows to Dumbledore, who declines the position. Santos is then chosen as new Supreme Mugwump. Enraged, Grindelwald tries to kill Credence, who Albus and Aberforth protect. Dumbledore's and Grindelwald's clashing spells break the blood pact. Their ensuing battle reaches a stalemate, and Grindelwald disapparates.
In the aftermath, Aberforth accepts the ailing Credence as his son and takes him home. Jacob and Queenie marry at Jacob's bakery shop in New York City, with most of the group and Tina Goldstein in attendance. Newt spots Dumbledore watching from across the street. Albus thanks Newt before disappearing into the night.
